Food Pantry
We have a very active food distribution service. Each Tuesday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm (or until clients stop coming) we offer families a balanced menu for that week. Presently we are serving anywhere from 120 to 150 clients each week.
This takes an enormous number of man hours and literally thousands of dollars.
We glean from Aldi’s twice a week, receive food donations from many of our church members who contribute generously, and get free food from a various number of sources primary of which are the Mountaineer Food Bank and the TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) from the USDA so that we can keep re-stocking the shelves of the pantry.

Workshop Rotation
The Workshop Rotation in One Long Sentence: In Workshop Rotation Sunday School, we teach one Bible story for 4 to 5 weeks in a row to all our kids, — rotating them into different exciting, media-based “workshops” each week, … while the teachers stay put in the workshop of their strength, -repeating, adapting, and improving their lesson each week during the “rotation”.
Towards that end, the rooms where we have our children’s ministry have been completely remodeled to accommodate a novel way of presenting Bible stories. Kids are being taught the classic stories of the Bible using four different learning styles in four different environments [computer room, movie theater, craft room and kitchen] on four consecutive weeks. This is known as the Workshop Rotation Method (often abbreviated as W.O.R.M.) We encourage young families to open the tab “Children’s Ministries” for a tour of the Workshop model of children’s education.

Kids’ rooms are creative workshops” instead of sterile “sit still” class rooms where kids are actively doing things which stimulates learning and heightens enjoyment
Kids are enthusiastic about coming to church because its fun and different every week
Kids learn Bible Stories quicker and on a deeper level because they are working with the same story four weeks in a row from four different perspectives using four different learning styles
What are the advantages of teaching bible stories this way?
Children ages 5-10 are taught one Bible story 4 weeks in a row, in 4 different exciting, media-based, inter-active work shops, using 4 different learning styles.
Once your child experiences this workshop model of learning, they will be asking you to bring them to church, not the other way around! It’s truly that much fun!
